What is the Mind Management Club?
The Mind Management Club is a club that was created by students at Clarkstown North in 2022. Mind Management is a space where students can work together to build social and emotional health skills. The club members come up with tools and strategies to reduce stress and create a more positive environment for themselves both inside and outside of school. Some activities in the club revolve around creating and practicing time management strategies to plan better and reduce overall stress. Club members make music playlists to brighten their moods, play fun games like “Spring Cleaning,” and design their own Lucky Charms.

October Meeting
In late October, the Mind Management Club had their first meeting, which was Halloween themed. Here, they made spooky potions to stir away all of their bad feelings and anxiety. This activity helped students to reflect on what has been bothering them in the past, and to officially let go of what has been weighing them down. The club finished off with a fun game of Halloween charades, acting out creepy ghosts, flying bats, and crawling spiders.

November Meeting
Close to Thanksgiving, the Mind Management Club had their second meeting to admire all of the things they are grateful for in their lives. Members played a game of photo roulette: searching for a photo in their camera roll to explain the backstory and why they are grateful for this memorable moment. Next, the club created a “grateful tree” by listing all of the people, things, places, and memories they were thankful for.
December Meeting
Before winter break, club members shared what they were looking forward to over the break, and got to play a fun game of winter bingo. The club provided hot chocolate for those who attended. With the hot chocolate, members worked on breathing exercises by smelling their hot cocoa and blowing on it to cool down. Overall, the club members were excited to enjoy a stress free break!
