Even with the massive amounts of snow on the ground, the Felix Festa Middle School pool is still busy, with our amazing Clarkstown Swim and Dive Team. With the boys’ season wrapping up and an amazing fall season from the girls’ team, let’s take a dive into our amazing swim and dive teams.
Girls:
During the fall season, the girls team went 2-6 in their regular season, taking the win against White Plains and Eastchester. The biggest splashes happened in their offseason. The girls continued their historic streak with their fifth Rockland Counties Championship title, defeating their league rivals at Tappan Zee. The team had fantastic swims, placing in the top 5, top 3, and even NYPHSAA State qualifying times. The heat continued into their remaining meets, Section 1 and League 1 championships. The team said goodbye to Sofia Vasko and Siena Decicco, North seniors, as well as two other captains. With an amazing fall season, the girls are looking forward to being back in the pool in August, and fans should keep an eye out for their stellar splash.
Boys:
As the degrees went into single digits, the boys team went 3-5 in their regular season, taking the win against Eastchester, Pelham and North Rockland. They are currently in their postseason, placing second at Rockland County Championships, falling shortly behind their rivals at Suffern. Head Coach Theo Tomljonovich says he’s confident in the team to bring the title back. They recently finished competing at League 1 Championships, finishing 6th overall, showcasing some amazing swims and best times, and the speediness continued into their most recent meet, the Section 1 championships. The cold definitely didn’t freeze this team this season, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll bring next.
