Students at Clarkstown North remember what it was like to visit Clarkstown North for the first time in eighth grade, seeing the building where they would spend the next four years. On Wednesday, January 14, new eighth graders visited Clarkstown North to learn more about the school. The visit took place in two shifts: a “morning” session during period four and an “afternoon” session during periods five and six. The middle schoolers began their visit in the auditorium, where they learned about clubs they could join, participated in Q&A sessions with current students, were introduced to the art, technology, and music requirements, and learned about the administration.

The trip then transitioned into the tour. Current students at Clarkstown North walked the eighth graders around the building, answering their questions and teaching them how to navigate the school. The eighth graders saw the library, classrooms, offices, and the courtyard. Not only did North students step into leadership roles, but they also had the opportunity to meet the incoming class. Seeing siblings, cousins, and friends walking through our halls was exciting and brought a refreshing change of pace for current students.
The middle schoolers showed a mix of excitement and nerves as they explored the halls. Many were eager to ask questions, curious about classes, clubs, and daily life at North, while others smiled and waved to current students they recognized. Clarkstown North looks forward to welcoming them back as students next year.
