The 2025 Fall season has officially come and gone– and what an action packed, exciting, and memorable one it was. The final whistles on the field hockey, football, and soccer fields have been blown, and now we are counting down the days until the first buckets are made on the basketball court, gymnasts are flipping everywhere in the gym, goals are being scored on the ice, and wrestlers are pinning people left and right. The weather is getting colder, and there is just over a week left until winter sports.

Football
The North Rams have successfully made a name for themselves this fall. They truly showed up and showed out– though this shouldn’t surprise anyone, considering the work they have put in on and off the field all year. Ending the season with a strong 5-4 record, they’ve proven themselves to be a standout team in Section 1.
In their game against Eastchester, the Rams conceded their second loss of the season, but that defeat just fueled them for playoffs that were just ahead. In this matchup, senior captain Jack Kavanagh went 7-for-12 for 171 yards, had one touchdown and rushed 11 times for 93 yards. Senior captains Eyal Gabai and Chase Firenze both added rushing touchdowns, and junior Eoin Barry contributed with a 28 yard rushing touchdown. On defense, Al Santasiere locked down with 11 tackles, while Ethan Davius and Tyler Ortiz each recorded 9.
The Rams quickly bounced back with a dominating win over Fox Lane, winning 47-14, securing a playoff spot in game 8 of the season– their first time since 2021. The star of the game was senior quarterback Jack Kavanagh, who rushed 17 times for 164 yards, scored 4 touchdowns and added a 2 point conversion. Kavanagh also connected with Gabai for a 27 yard rushing touchdown, while freshman Alex Londino added a 23 yard touchdown run on his first ever varsity carry. Senior Alex Mulackal made a highlight play with a 79 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
North faced 4 time state champs Somers in the first round of playoffs on 10/31. While it was not the ending they had hoped for, the loss opened the door for an additional game against their cross town rivals, South.
Overall, this team will be one that goes down in North history. This season will go down as the one that redefined the North football program and set a new standard for years to come.

Girls Soccer
In preseason the North Girls Varsity Soccer team set one goal: to find their footing, build a new identity for themselves and make the playoffs– and they did just that.
The Rams faced the hardest schedule in all of Section 1 this season, but they refused to let that stop them. Though they did not start the season as well as they hoped, the girls had their eyes on redemption heading into the last 8 games. Their goal was simple: to win.
North finished the season with four wins- one of which came in a dramatic fashion during their final regular season game against the Carmel Rams. Needing a victory to secure a chance at hosting a home playoff game, the team put everything they had into these 80 minutes. The Rams came out on top with a hard fought 2-1 win.
Junior Captain Amanda Bialek, typically a center back, started the game as a winger and quickly buried a ball in the back of the net off an assist from Abby Mulvaney. Later, junior Brianna Winrow scored the game winner off a perfectly placed ball over the top from eighth grader Teagan Dobelle. Gianna Pocalyko had 6 saves in the win including 2 clutch ones late in the game. Bialek received Rammy because of her unwavering determination for the game, her stellar leadership, and her essential work as part of the team’s success.
Although the team fell short to dominant Horace Greeley in the first round of Class AA playoffs, the future looks bright– with only two seniors graduating, they are already gearing up for a comeback season.
In the postseason honors, juniors Amanda Bialek and Sydney Krutman were recognized as All League players. Additionally, Amanda Bialek was recognized as All Section.

Boys Soccer
The Boys Varsity Soccer team had a very successful season. Having a final record of 6-6-2, they were a dominant and competitive team in 2025. On 10/4 the team had their senior day celebrating their 11 seniors. The Rams came out on top, clinching a 2–1 win. Junior Josh Deskin got one early in the fourth minute to relieve some pressure. And in the second half Senior Nick Catina secured the win for the Rams in the 47th minute. The team faced South on 10/8 and accepted a tie after an always physical and hard fought game. The team sadly went out early in the playoffs but that doesn’t diminish their hard earned season.

Field Hockey
Clarkstown Varsity field hockey found themselves in the Section 1 final last week– But how did they get there?
To kick off the season, Clarkstown opened with a strong win 3-0 against Pearl River, fueling them up for what’s to come. Soon after, the girls recorded another shutout against North Rockland. Keeping their momentum, they defeated Nanuet next, with sophomore Julia Ekizian scoring in all three games and netting two against Nanuet.
And they didn’t stop there– they defeated Nyack 2-0, then breezed past Albertus 6-1. Then followed that with a 5-2 victory over Ossining before taking their first loss of the season, a narrow 1-2 game against Arlington. In that matchup, sophomore Emma Mollahan scored her first varsity goal.
The team then responded in a dominant fashion, going on an 8 game winning streak, dominating Scarsdale, Hen Hud, Pleasantville, Edgemont, Valhalla, Hastings, Suffern and Rye Neck.
On 10/11 the girls celebrated their 10 seniors with a 3-0 win against Hastings in their senior game. Just three days later, on 10/14, senior Blythe Leahy scored the game winning goal to lift Clarkstown to a 3-2 win over Suffern
The team went on to become the league champions and #3 seed heading into playoffs. In the first round, they defeated Mahopac and then faced 2nd seeded White Plains. Clarkstown advanced to the Section 1 final after Ana Galati (Clarkstown South) scored the winning goal in double overtime, with sophomore Julia Ekizian adding two goals in the win.
In the section final, Clarkstown fell short to Mamaronek, who are ranked 30th nationally and 1st in New York. Despite the tough loss, Julia Ekizian and Blythe Leahy earned all league honors, capping off an incredible season for Clarkstown.
