This past summer, the school courtyard, located outside the Mansion, underwent a renovation. The project was led by Class of 2024 graduate Max Caivano as part of his Eagle Scout project. The project began with the removal of vines that had grown over the sides of the Mansion over the years. Caivano washed the stairs and walls, cleared debris from the window wells, and repainted the window well grates. This helped brighten up the area.
As part of the upgrades, Caivano added a stone pathway around the courtyard’s perimeter. Several climbing hydrangeas were planted along the walls, and a tree was planted in one corner, giving the space a colorful and welcoming look. Weeds were cleared from the old pool area, and new grass was planted. A cornhole board, painted in purple and gold, is now available for use in the storage bin next to the courtyard stairs.
Caivano hopes that students and teachers will use this place as a spot to relax during and after school.
