The North Store has expanded. On Monday, October 6, 2025, the new North Store officially opened at Clarkstown North in Room 505, its new location. This year the North Store team is proud to introduce a range of new offerings including sandwiches, wraps, salads, bagels, Hershey’s ice cream, and slushies. Students plan to launch fresh-baked cookies and both iced and hot coffee beverages later this year. Students also gain the experience of running a business by helping operate the store, analyze sales data, and design marketing materials.
The North Store is not just a store; it is a part of classes offered at North, like College Small Business Marketing 1H, Work-Based learning, and Small Business Marketing 2H. Each course teaches different skills, and students gain valuable experience through the business of the North Store. The students’ roles help expand the store while students also experience real world business through planning, managing, and thinking critically to communicate effectively with one another.

The North Store is a place where almost every student stops at, and a big part of why is the amazing food there, such as bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches were introduced last school year. These quickly became one of the most popular items in the store. They are catered from Leonardo’s Deli in New City. Each Sandwich costs $7.00, and students are working on planning the amount of sandwiches to purchase and sell at the Store each week. Students are deciding this based on previous data of sales from last year. Another popular item is the Ramble Cookie, which made its first appearance last school year. These are made from the gourmet cooking classes offered at North, and the cookies will be returning soon this school year.
Students don’t just study business concepts at Clarkstown North, they live them. Each day, they make decisions rooted in data, creativity, and empathy, learning how to adapt, lead, and communicate effectively in a professional setting. The North Store will also be conducting surveys, taste tests, and other forms of market research to better understand student preferences and improve product selection.
Overall, these activities allow students to apply marketing principles in real time. The students test ideas, gather feedback, and make informed business decisions that directly impact their school community. The North Store is co-managed by Jessica Flanagan, Department Chair for Science and CTECH, who teaches the Small Business Marketing 2H course; Mr. Cazzari and Mr. O’Grady, who teach College Small Business Marketing 1H; and Mr. Harley, who oversees the Work-Based Learning program. Hopefully this Business of the North Store grows more with the assistance of the Business Students and teachers, and keeps its main missions and goals forever accomplished with success.
