For the 2025-26 school year, the Ram’s Horn has appointed new leadership positions to individuals who are committed to helping the newspaper continue to thrive. After the Ram’s Horn transitioned to its new website last school year, there has been a continued focus on multimedia content as well as on continuing to push out high-quality articles. Editor-in-Chief Melanie Gallo and Asst. Editor-in-Chief Zoey Count share their vision for the Ram’s Horn this school year.

Interview with Editor-in-Chief Melanie Gallo ‘27
Eli: When and why did you first get involved in Rams’s Horn?
Melanie: I got involved in Ram’s Horn freshman year. I heard about it from my brother who was a junior at North when I was a freshman. Former Editor-in-Chief Aidan Dobrosielski also advertised the club to me which made me get interested. I have always liked writing and journalism and this club was a perfect fit for me.
Eli: What can we expect from the Ram’s Horn this year?
Melanie: This year we can expect more engagement with students and teachers. I want to potentially start a spotlight section on the Instagram/Website with interviews of students every other week. I also want to hold weekly polls with “would you rather questions” or “opinion polls.”
Eli: Do you see yourself studying/pursuing journalism in the future?
Melanie: Possibly; I love writing and I am keeping my options open.
Eli: Finally, how can students get involved in the Ram’s Horn?
Melanie: Students can get involved with Ram’s Horn by attending meetings in the writing lab, getting involved with social media posts, writing articles, and sharing suggestions for videos or articles. Students can join the Google Classroom with the code pdjwvyv to stay up-to-date with meetings.

Interview with Assistant Editor-in-Chief Zoey Count ‘27:
Eli:When and why did you first get involved in Rams’s Horn?
Zoey: I first got involved in Ram’s Horn sophomore year. I heard about it around the school and my mom was also part of the club when she attended CHSN. I decided to join because I enjoy writing and sharing my ideas. I hope new people are able to experience the joy and creativity I have felt being a part of this club!
Eli: What is an article you’re most proud of?
Zoey: I am most proud of my article showcasing the annual art show. I found the article unique to write because a piece of my own art was featured in the art show and I got to share my own perspective on the show. Aside from writing articles, I enjoy interviewing students on their views on pertinent school issues.
Eli: What advice would you give to freshmen or new members of Ram’s Horn?
Zoey: Even if you don’t love to write, join! We have many different sections and types of media we create – if you like sports: join the sports section – there is a place for everyone to express their opinions. Ram’s Horn is also a great way to meet new people and become involved here at North!
Eli: What sections of the Ram’s Horn do you enjoy writing for the most?
Zoey: I enjoy writing for Around the Horn the most because I love to share things going on around the North. I am a very involved student and Ram’s Horn serves as an essential outlet for me to share a first person view on the wide array of activities I’m a part of.
