As we wrap up the school year, North’s Art Department is hard at work continuing its annual tradition of an end of the year art show. Although it is a longstanding tradition, this year was the first time that the art show was hosted at North and all students enrolled in an art class were represented. As students walked through the halls, they viewed the talent at Clarkstown North. Some of the students represented are being awarded in course excellence, and the principal’s showcase, as well as many other contest awards and acknowledgements.

The Clarkstown North Art Department has created an environment for students to freely express themselves visually and make their time in high school more enjoyable. National Art Honor Society Executive Board Member Natalie Berkowitz commented, “Being a part of the Art department for the last four years has been such an incredible experience. My art classes gave me time to be creative during school days, and it has been so cool as I get older to see other people finding their creativity during their own art classes, and even more cool to get to see everyone’s hard work showcased in the art show this year.”

This year’s art show was a celebration of hard work and talent, featuring more art students than ever. From alluring watercolor pieces to thought provoking sculptures, North’s art show hosted a diverse range of artwork and shared unique perspectives and stories from the artists themselves. The new approach to this year’s art show was a huge success highlighted by the variety of remarkable pieces on display, and it allowed students to feel confident in showcasing their talent and passion for art. Congratulations to all the art students who had their pieces displayed, and thank you to the art teachers and administration for putting together a wonderful show.
